Our approach to a live-action filming project

We see ourselves as a creative partner, which is why the process of creating a live-action, corporate video is a collaborative effort between our team and the client.

Strategy & Concept

It begins with a creative brief to understand the client’s goals, target audience, and message they want to convey. From this we develop treatments, scripts and moodboards.

Concept & Pre-production

Once we have a direction, we create storyboards and animatic to visualise the film before moving on to have a recce of any location, casting actors, creating props and preparing a shot-list. We’ll also manage any licensing issues that may arise.

Production & Post-production

On the shoot day, the crew will be fully briefed so the director can focus on whoever is in front of camera to help them deliver the best performance. Afterwards we’ll edit, add sound effects, music, voiceovers, any graphics and grade the footage so the colours ping!

There’s a lot that goes into a live-action video, but it all starts with a great brief. You can download a copy of ours below:

Drive Conversions and Boost Sales with Live-action corporate video

We believe it isn’t enough to make a great looking corporate video. Every piece of content we create follows our design-led storytelling philosophy. Memorable website video and social media ads need to communicate the brand and the message. After all, a product video is worthless if no one can remember who makes it. We make sure to build the brand’s identity into every video we make.

This is why, in an industry where quality doesn’t always come as standard, we are proud that 95% of our business is from referrals and repeat clients.

Video production management

Our video production services are trusted by corporations and agencies. Strong industry connections give us access to the best talent for your project—at the best price.

We film globally and in the UK, managing everything from start to finish. Working with trusted local crews ensures budget efficiency and smooth, timely and cost-effective shoots. We are skilled at handling complex production schedules, managing shoot compliance and adapting to changing timelines.

Our process

Guided by our values our approach is simple: strategy-led, creatively executed, and designed for impact. We don’t rely on guesswork. We listen, analyse, and create with intent, ensuring your video doesn’t just stand out but truly resonates.

01

Collect

Establishing a clear brief from the outset is key to a successful project.

Having a kick-off meeting and not holding back makes a big difference. The more you share with us, the easier it is to create the right content for you.

We study how your brand is viewed internally and externally so we can bring your corporate video production vision to life in a manner that is best understood by your audience.

02

Consider

Now we get our brains working.

This is the creative strategy stage of the corporate video production process, which is all about generating ‘The Big Idea’ that will bring the brief to life.

We’ll write a creative brief, and once that is approved develop two distinctive creative routes based on an agreed strategic thought, presented through written treatments and moodboards.

03

Concept

Once you’ve chosen a creative route, our Design Directors and Copywriters will work together to develop the initial concept for your corporate video.

This stage is about exploring how to bring the creative to life, whether that be a static logo or developing a graphic property that will inform the design development throughout the rest of the project. If characters are needed, we will sketch out options for discussion.

Typical deliverables at this point would be an initial script, indicative style-frames and a sketched storyboard.

04

Consolidate

Once we have consolidated your feedback, we are ready to focus on designing and developing all the elements needed for a successful corporate video project.

Scripts and copy will be finalised. Storyboards reworked as artworked style-frames reflecting the final look of the creative.

We will produce an animatic to checking pace, tone of voice and flow of a video, and begin searching for voiceovers and music based on the brief.

05

Create & Circulate

With strategy, content, design and pace approved, we can begin creating the final product.

Any combination of skills goes into corporate video production; illustration, animation, live action filming, editing and so on. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities to comment and input.

Once we have had your final approval , we can work with you to master up all the deliverables you and your team need, in a range of formats ready for you to circulate.

We produce a broad range of live-action films designed to meet a variety of communication and marketing needs.

Our work spans corporate video production, promotional videos, testimonial videos, event coverage, and brand films. Whether you’re after compelling talking heads, stylised interview filming, or cinematic corporate films, we combine strategic thinking with expert execution to create content that connects with your audience and supports wider business objectives.

While the early stages of our process are similar, live-action brings its own unique set of creative and logistical considerations.

We begin with discovery, getting to know you, your brand, and your business objectives. From there, we develop a clear creative direction through treatments, scripts and moodboards. At this point, the process closely mirrors our animation workflow, with detailed storyboarding and animatics to map out the visual narrative.

But this is where things begin to differ.

Live-action production moves into the real world, we conduct location scouting and recces, organise casting services, build or source props, and prepare detailed shot lists. We also handle any necessary licensing management, ensuring every element is ready for the shoot.

On the day of filming, our production crew is fully briefed so the director can focus on drawing out the best performance on camera, whether that’s with actors, contributors, or talking heads. Once we wrap, we move into post-production, where we craft the final piece through expert editing, sound design, music and sound design, voiceover recording, motion graphics, and colour grading.

From concept to delivery, we work collaboratively with our clients, making sure they feel heard, supported, and part of the journey, in both animation and live action.

Pre-production is essential, it ensures the shoot runs smoothly and the final film delivers on its objectives.

This phase includes creative development, scriptwriting, storyboarding, casting services, location scouting, and licensing management. We also create production schedules, shot lists, and technical plans for lighting and sound.

This groundwork ensures the team is fully prepared, keeping the project efficient, on-brand, and ready for a successful shoot.

Every project starts with a detailed creative brief that pinpoints your objectives, audience, and key message. From there, we move into creative development, shaping a treatment that defines the film’s concept, tone, structure, and visual style.

Our scriptwriting team then builds a script that puts the core message and video objectives at the centre, whether that’s to inform, promote, or persuade. We consider the narrative flow, pacing, tone of voice, visual cues, on-screen actions, transitions, and any required voiceover.

We always invite client feedback at every stage, giving you the opportunity to shape the treatment and script so they reflect your vision, messaging, and goals.

Yes, we manage all aspects of casting services. From sourcing professional actors and contributors to organising auditions and managing contracts, we ensure the right people are in front of the camera.

We take care of all licensing management for your shoot. This includes obtaining filming permits, securing access to private or public locations, and handling any necessary contracts or insurance.

As part of our location scouting process, we identify the best environments to suit your visual and practical needs, making sure each location supports the overall message, tone, and narrative of your video.

Yes, we regularly manage multi-location and international shoots.

With a trusted network of partners across the UK and globally, we handle all logistics, including crew, travel, equipment, and permits. Whether you need event coverage in different cities or a brand film with a consistent look and feel across regions, we make the process smooth and stress-free.

Each shoot is tailored to the project, but most include a core production crew; including director, producer, camera operators, and a camera assistant or runner if needed.

We use industry-standard cameras, lenses, lighting kits, and audio equipment, carefully selected to match the style and scale of the shoot. Depending on the shoot, additional crew members or equipment may be brought in to support specific requirements.

We use your creative brief and brand assets to guide every creative decision. From set design, wardrobe, and tone of voice, to colour grading and music and sound design, we make sure the content looks and feels on-brand.

Every detail is carefully considered to maintain brand consistency and protect brand equity.

Yes. We can add visual effects, motion graphics, animated logos, titles, data overlays, and other graphic elements to live-action footage.

If something can’t be filmed, we can animate it. This is useful for brand films, corporate videos, and promotional content that needs to explain, emphasise, or visualise key information.

See how we used a mix of live action, animation  and video editing in this brand film to explain and elevate key messages.

Yes. We offer remote direction for clients who can’t attend the shoot in person. Using Microsoft Teams or Zoom, you can monitor the live action filming, give real-time feedback, and stay connected with the crew.

That said, we always recommend attending the shoot where possible, it’s the most efficient way to review details and make quick decisions on the day. But if attendance isn’t feasible, our thorough pre-production ensures everything is agreed and aligned beforehand, so you can trust the process will run smoothly without needing to be on set.

We use professional audio kits and experienced sound technicians to capture clear, clean audio on set. Post-production includes detailed sound design, music and sound design, and voiceover recording where needed.

A typical project takes around 4–8 weeks from brief to delivery, covering everything from creative development and pre-production to filming and post-production.

Timings can vary depending on the length of the video, the number of locations being filmed, or whether animation and motion graphics are part of the brief. Availability also plays a role. If we’re filming senior leaders or other team members, we know diaries can be tight, so we work with you early on to secure filming dates that suit everyone.

We’re used to working to tight deadlines. If you have a launch date or event to hit, just flag it in the brief and we’ll create a schedule that supports timely delivery.

We approach live-action with the mindset of a creative consultant, not just a production company. Every decision, from framing and lighting to casting, scripting, and motion graphics, is led by narrative intent and brand alignment.

Our background in animation, motion design, and story-led branding means we don’t just capture footage, we plan, direct, and design every frame with purpose. Unlike traditional production teams, we think in systems: how the film fits within your wider brand ecosystem, how it performs across platforms, and how it delivers long-term value.
