We Are Content Creatures

Creative content agency
Brett Davey: Creative Director

During my 20 years in broadcast, I have created, wrote and directed a number of award-winning commercials, promo campaigns and TV shows. I have written for and directed a wide range of content, featuring a varied bunch: from Danny Dyer to David Cameron and Jessica Alba to Scooby-Doo.

As a creative leader, I always encourage my teams to punch above their weight, to reach further, try harder and be more. At Turner, I was also heavily involved in strategy and planning and spent time at Ashridge Business School.

Now, as Creative Director for Content Creatures, I have the responsibility for the development and execution of all creative content. My goal is to ensure we deliver broadcast quality to every piece of work. As well as overseeing the animation studio, I take a hands-on role to writing and directing our projects.

Cailie Dimmock: Head Of Production

As Head of Production I manage and oversee all projects and client relationships within the studio. Having spent 11 years working for branding and design agencies producing trailers, commercials, promotional films and channel branding with leading UK and international broadcasters and agencies, my experience is pretty varied. Along the way, my problem solving skills have been quite tested.

I pride myself on my ability to juggle numerous complex timelines and like to think that I react quickly to new challenges and help to deliver fantastic projects, that result in happy clients.

Amongst the clients I’ve worked with are: BBC News, BBC Worldwide, ITV, UEFA, FIFA, O2, Expedia, Renault TV, Saudi Telecoms, IOC, Hotels.com and The Travel Channel

Andy Williams: Lead Animator

It was always my intention to become a professional tennis player. Then, having competed and trained for several years both in Great Britain and abroad, I decided that it was no longer an achievable goal in such a competitive field – especially with my disadvantaged height of 5ft 7in – so I turned my attention back towards what I had loved from school; Art and animation.

Seven years later and I have never looked back. Now, I am working in an industry that I love and learning something new every day.

At Content Creatures I have led many projects including those for: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Omnicom Media Group, Lebara Play, Qwirkle, Brainbox and ICAP.

Steph Haymes: Design Lead

After studying animation at Falmouth University, I went on to gain experience in a variety of creative roles including broadcast design, motion graphics, print design and series animation on ‘Melody’ for CBeebies.

In a bid to keep up to date with the animation industry, I began a Twitter feed a few years back called ‘Feed Me Animation,’ through which I try to share exciting news, the odd interesting article as well as fun and totally random animations. (follow me!)

Here, at Content Creatures, I have the opportunity to finally focus on what I love most – creating animated content.

I have lead many projects since joining, including those for: ITV Rugby World Cup, The Autumn Orchard, Octopus, The Royal Mint and BBC Worldwide

Billy Lubach: Junior Creative

I become extremely animated about animation.

Growing up, I was fascinated by flipbooks, papercraft and making moving structures using split pins and string. When I finally got my hands on a computer, that interest grew to encompass animated gifs and playing around with simple clay animation. Although my techniques have changed, the fire inside is as strong as ever.

I studied animation at UCA Farnham, where I focused on Adobe After Effects animation and learned a variety of other skills that I’ve continued to use to this day.

Outside of the studio, I enjoy writing soundtracks to my films, or soundtracks to imaginary films I haven’t made yet. When I’m not animating, you’ll find me trying to learn the flute or the cello surrounded by cups of lukewarm rooibos tea and gluten free toast.

As Junior Creative I’m able to combine my animation, design and musical skills to bring something special to Content Creatures.

Jack Hart: Junior Animator

From a young age, I’ve had the desire to seek a career in the creative industries. My old books from school are full of pages with doodles in the corners, which frustrated my teachers! After studying a foundation in Art, I knew Animation was the path for me.

I completed my Animation degree at the University of Portsmouth in 2015 and spent a year trying to break into the industry. After a few short-term internships, I started worth Content Creatures in September 2016.

Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to be faced with different challenges daily. This has allowed me to grow as an Animator and learn a variety of new skills.

Outside of the studio, I concentrating on improving my portfolio and building skills that will make me a better animator.

Ellie Simmons: Animation Intern

I am currently studying for a BA Hons in Animation at the University of Gloucestershire. When I’m not at Uni, I come and help out at Content Creatures as a studio assistant.

The projects are really varied, it’s a great place to learn new skills and improve my animation techniques in any down-time.
