Good bereavement saves lives
Explainer Video
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices support babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions, and their families across Surrey, South West and North West London.
We were tasked with producing a 10-minute explainer video and presentation to support a keynote speech at a conference that focused on their message: ‘good bereavement saves lives.’ It told their story in more depth, outlined who they are, the vital services they provide and how people can get involved or seek support. The video was designed as an informative asset for use on their website.

The creative content
The explainer combined stills, character animation, branded artwork in line with the charity’s guidelines and a clear voiceover to walk viewers through what the charity does and how it supports families.
We collaborated closely with Shooting Star Children’s Hospices to distil a large amount of information into a structured, concise 10-minute script that communicated their services with clarity.
The narrative was developed as a presentation that also doubled as a video. Building it in Canva allowed us to shape chaptered sections, add character animation powered by Moho, and export a clean web-ready asset.
The impact
The video gave Shooting Star a long-form asset that clarified their message, answered common questions about their service, and increased awareness of the support they provide. It complemented the bereavement campaign video we created for them, offering additional depth and detail for families and supporters visiting their website.
What we enjoyed about the project
We particularly enjoyed this project as it involved creating the video in a way we had not done before. Building it through a Canva presentation that also functioned as a video gave us the chance to explore a different creative approach.
